Join us for all bakeries three, or just stay for one – you are always welcome on our rides. Feel free to start in Mawson, or meet us along the route. Your host will be arriving by a bus – every Transport Canberra bus can carry two bicycles on the front rack (and a folding bike inside).

Rough itinerary:
Under Bakery at Mawson shops – 8am–8.30am
Curtin shops (ETA 8.50am; depart 9.15)
Little Burley Market (ETA 9.40am-ish).

All are welcome to come and browse, or bring your own bikes, gear or parts to sell or swap! Feel free to bring display bikes or to set up and chat about your local bike club, shop or business.

Monkey Wrench Cycles is clearing out some old stock, used parts, leftovers and curiosities at price points $0, $5, $10, $20

BYO table or blanket as well if you want to display items. Monkey Wrench Cycles will have EFTPOS facilities but most other exhibitors won’t, so bring your piggy bank as well.

Drop in at our Unicycling Come and Try session. We’ll help you get started, and give you tips and support. Wear sports shoes and long pants or shorts.

We’re a volunteer-run, not for profit club that welcomes people of all ages, diversities and abilities.

Preloved bicycles are donated to the library. Our volunteer mechanics refurbish the bikes. Once in working order, the bikes are made available to the community to borrow. Members of the community contact us via Facebook or email to find out what bikes we have available. Or they visit us to pick out a bike.

Cycle Jam is a meetup for anyone who wants to fix or maintain a bicycle. Bring along a bike to fix, or just come along to watch, learn and socialise. Cycle Jam is run by volunteers who will work with you to give you the skills to fix your bike. Cycle Jam is held in a fully equipped bike workshop with free tools and some spare parts. Need help changing a tyre? Need some specialised tools for your beloved steed? Cycle Jam is for beginners and experts alike. Be prepared to have fun and get involved!

The record was set by an ex-professional cyclist and GCN presenter Chris Opie. Due to Covid restrictions he wasn’t in his prime form at the time he gained the record. I plan to beat the record in a year’s time with focused training purely for this goal. This will be a test event throwing everything I have at the moment. I anticipate a solid 31-33km. The goal of this day is to benchmark my efforts and gain valuable data (cadence, HR etc) to give better focus for my training. Guinness World Records have been notified and will be present for the real event next year… it’ll be big—it’ll have a BBQ, a petting zoo and jumping castles—it’ll be great!
I’m currently the National Penny Farthing Champion and I’ll be returning to claim my 3rd year of the title down in Evandale, TAS. It’s made me think about what it might mean to be a GOAT on anything… particularly the Penny Farthing! Gotta set a World Record… and not a lame one like longest distance riding a Penny Farthing while playing a guitar… although I would easily do that too.

So come and enjoy a low-key spectacle as I punish myself for an hour and set Queanbeyan Park alight!

The AusCycling MTB National Series is an annual competition that features both cross-country and downhill racing. It features the top riders from across the country. This round is hosted by the Canberra Off-Road Cyclists.

These events are crucial for riders aiming to gain national ranking points and showcase their skills. They also serve as a platform for emerging talent to compete at a high level looking to progress to international competition.

What’s a bike party? Dearly beloved, we roll beside Lake Burley Griffin playing music from a partybox speaker, laughing and chatting, and celebrating this thing we call life. Brakes and lights are compulsory. All cycles, scooters and roller skates/blades are welcome.

Give us your song requests (ideally under six minutes), from any genre, and we’ll play them. 

We’ll meet outside Smith’s Alternative – Cyclonats Headquarters – then down Marcus Clarke St and then a clockwise loop around the Central Basin of Lake BG. If there’s demand, we’ll stop for a meal/drink at The Jetty, and then see Lindy Lee’s Ouroubouros sculpture at the National Gallery of Australia. Then over Commonwealth Ave Bridge, Lawson Crescent, Sullivans Creek, and the ANU campus, finishing at The Street Theatre.

Light up your bike and join us for a fun, clockwise loop of the lake, finishing at Canberra’s amazing Enlighten Festival.

While all bikes are welcomed, this event is sure to attract a few of those fun-loving freakbike riders from Canberra’s very own Rat Patrol OZ. Dance beats will be provided by a fantastic cargo (party) bike so we’ll be sure to stop the ride at a couple of spots so you can get your dance on. Limited stocks of free glow sticks and sticky tape will be available at the start of the ride (while stocks last).

If you’re planning to attend Enlighten on Saturday night, this is the best way to get there!

Pedal Power Easy Social Rides are designed for less experienced riders and those returning to cycling or anyone lacking confidence riding in a group. All rides aim to stay within an average pace of 15-18km/h and be around 20 km long.
All rides are conducted by an accredited social ride leader and they will have an end rider. Depending on the experience and capabilities of the group, the ride may have regrouping stops along the way.
At the end of the ride, enjoy a café stop with your fellow riders!

Unicycle ACT are having a unicycle hockey training and playing session at the Tuggeranong Archery Club Hall in Soward Street, starting one hour earlier than usual to allow for the indoor aviators.
Everyone who can ride is welcome to join in. And if you can’t ride, you can still come and watch or maybe even have a go!
